Messaging & To Do List Module - Property Management System (PMS)
RDP's Messaging and To-Do List" module provides a messaging
system to each individual at the property as well as entire departments. When a
given person starts the system their opening menu will display messages for that
individual, their department, or company wide messages, such as "remember the staff
meeting at 2:00 PM today". Messages can also be added for guests and
group leaders. Features include:
Messages
for Individuals
Each person who uses the RDPWin system has a unique
login name and password. When a given user logs into the system the
messages for that individual are displayed in the following order:
- Messages intended for the entire company ("system wide") messages
- Messages for that persons workgroup (such as housekeeping, Front Desk, etc)
- Messages unique for that individual
Track Open
and Closed Messages
When messages are sent to a given user, guest, or group, they continue to show
until closed. After a message has been closed it can still be viewed on a separate
screen using the "closed message" option. Messages can be sorted by a variety
of criteria, including:
- Date and Time
- From Address
- Open/Closed
- Department
- Priority
Messages Interfaced to
Housekeeping System
The messaging system if fully integrated with RDP's
housekeeping system. For example:
- A guest calls the front desk to request additional towel
- The front desk employee generates a message for the housekeeping department
for more towels
- The message appears on the head housekeepers monitor screen
- The head housekeeper can assign this "message" to an individual housekeeper
- The system can notify the housekeeper of the message via a Text Email to
a mobile phone or wireless PDA
- After the housekeeper completes the "task" (the "to-do"), they can close
the message. It no longer appears as an open "to do list" item for that
person.
- The message is now closed, but available for historical tracking and reporting.

Messages can be sent and tracked for many entities at the property, including
the following:
- Users of the RDP system
- Guests currently at the property
- Group leaders
- Housekeepers
- Work orders & Asset
RDP also offers a fully integrated Email system for communication with guests
