WebEx Support - Property Management Software

 

 

In keeping with the latest PCI compliance requirements, RDP announces the use of WebEx to connect to customer networks.  Remote Desktop from Microsoft will no longer be used as it is does not employ a two way authentication as does WebEx.  WebEx combines real-time desktop sharing and file transfer and provides RDP customers with a reliable connection tool that is not dependant on IT staff opening specific firewall ports and is PCI compliant.

The process to connect is:

  1. Open a support ticket with RDP Support
  2. If a connection to your computer is required, you will get an e-mail or a phone call with the "Support Session Number"
  3. Click on the link provided in the e-mail or use the link in the header of the RDP Support home page
  4. Click the big Join button
  5. Enter the support session number and your first name and click Submit
  6. The connection will be made

Is WebEx Safe?

Is WebEx safe for us to use? Absolutely!  In fact, it's much more secure than the previously used Remote Desktop.  RDP no longer has access to your system unless you provide it.  WebEx allows RDP to connect to customers without having to open up any ports on your firewall.

When do we use WebEx?

When do we use WebEx? There are times when a problems exists for a customer that cannot be replicated by RDP Support.  RDP support will initiate the WebEx session for complicated issues that are more easily seen or fixed with a WebEx connection.  You'll decrease the time and expense of drawn-out conversations via e-mail.  WebEx connects instantly through firewalls - no need for customers to install software.  All you need is a support session number.

Do I need to purchase WebEx?

Do I need to purchase WebEx?  No.  WebEx is a web-based service that RDP pays for, so you can use it from any computer with no complicated installation worries.  RDP Support logs into our WebEx account to start or schedule a session.  Our customers do not need to be WebEx subscribers to make the connection.

How do I connect?

  1. Access RDP's WebEx Portal at https://resortdata.webex.com/sc.



  2. Enter your Support Session Number and first name and click Submit
